The Exceptional Jet Singapore Airlines Will Use for the World’s Longest Flight

By Justin Bachman, Bloomberg

Singapore Airlines is the only customer for the Airbus A350LR, a special long-range aircraft with extra space in its fuel tanks. It will fly from Singapore to New York for its first route.

Skift Take: Singapore Airlines has unique needs. It wants to fly nonstop from Singapore to New York, and the route is so important for the airline that it’s willing to fly the jet with far fewer seats than it could otherwise hold. Not many other airlines are willing to make that tradeoff.
